Lead-acid remains a proven, lower-upfront-cost option for single-shift operations with a dedicated charging routine. Lithium-ion suits multi-shift work because it tolerates opportunity charging during breaks and requires no watering or equalizing. The right choice depends on shift pattern, available charging time, and whether you want to keep a battery room.

Charging behavior is the biggest difference

Lead-acid batteries are designed around a full charge followed by a cool-down period, which fits a single-shift schedule well but constrains multi-shift operations to battery swapping.

Lithium-ion accepts partial charges without the same penalty, so trucks can top up during breaks and stay in service across shifts.
