How often should a forklift be serviced?
Most manufacturers specify planned maintenance every 200 to 250 operating hours, which works out to roughly quarterly for a single-shift operation and monthly for a multi-shift fleet. OSHA also requires a documented daily operator inspection before each shift and an annual safety inspection.
How much do forklift maintenance services cost?
A standard planned maintenance visit typically runs $150 to $300 per truck depending on class, hours and location. Full-coverage maintenance agreements that bundle all scheduled PMs and repair labor generally run $150 to $400 per truck per month. Fleets of six or more units qualify for reduced per-unit pricing.
What is included in a forklift planned maintenance visit?
A factory-trained technician performs a multi-point inspection of brakes, mast, chains, forks, hydraulics, steering, tires and electrical systems, changes fluids and filters on the manufacturer schedule, tests the battery or tunes the engine, scans fault codes, and delivers a written report with photos and recommended repairs.
Do you service forklift brands you did not sell?
Yes. We are an authorized Hyundai and Big Joe dealer, but our technicians service all major makes including Toyota, Crown, Yale, Hyster, Clark, Caterpillar, Nissan, Komatsu, Raymond and Jungheinrich, and our mobile vans stock common wear parts for those brands.
What areas do you cover for forklift maintenance?
We cover Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine from our Hamden, CT base, with a 4-hour response guarantee for customers on a maintenance agreement.
What happens if a truck breaks down between scheduled visits?
Maintenance agreement customers get priority dispatch and are placed at the front of the queue, with on-site response within four hours across our service area. Most repairs are completed same-day because our mobile vans carry the wear parts that cause the majority of breakdowns.
